Life at sea - 3

Something has changed on board since we jibed last Thursday...

Every day around lunch time, the same thing happens. We are not really
used to that so we do our best to cope with it. Usually, we go to hide
inside the boat and hand over the steering to the auto-pilot. Sometimes,
in an attempt to save the energy, one of us goes to steer but usually
gives up after a few minutes. Inside, we open all windows and try to
decrease our activities to a minimum... sleeping and reading become the
only options. Thomas' motivation to use the sextant is still high enough
to make him spend 40 minutes outside, just around 12. It always
impresses us! Of course, it is always at the moment of his last measure
that the only cloud in the sky decides to stand in front of the sun...
Anyway, he managed to get an error of only 6 miles yesterday, which is a
good reason to keep the motivation high! Marie is definitely the one who
deals best with our new condition. She manages to prepare delicious
lunches every day to distract us and forget what happens outside. She
was also the one today who discovered the solution to our new issue:
throwing buckets full of sea water at each other seems to bring back the
smiles on our faces and life on board :) So you see, despite the new
difficulties that show up on our way, we are still able to find
solutions and we keep going!

Cheers,
Eloise

Yop!

Ben alors?

Bon vent

Philippe

PS D'astronomie a gastronimie, comme y disent aux Glenans: Vous mangez quoi a bord, quel rythme?

Good to know that you are coping with the difficulties and still having fun on board.

Eloise, where are you going to land, the destination of the cross Atlantic trip? Approximately when you are going to get there? I guess your coming back trip will be postponed, right?

Best wishes to all of you.
