Trans-channel Martinique to Saint Vincent

Today we crossed the Saint Vincent Channel! We started off after
breakfast at 08.20 and went southbound towards the next island. We had
perfect conditions in the beginning, but after a couple of hours the
rain and NE winds reached us :-(. The heaven just opened up for 20
minutes and we got soaking wet! But this weather is not like the weather
on the Norwegian coastline; 30C degrees extra helps a lot when drying up
after rain.

We got company by a bird –who preyed on the flying fish which got
frightened by our ship. After a while we observed the bird got very
interested in our fishing lines – and Thomas spotted the line was
moving: "WE GOT FISH – A TUNA"! (The 8.th fish during the journey).

We anchored 15.30 in Marigot Bay, after talking to many "boat-boys"
offering to guide us in, selling fruit & vegetables, transportation or
music (!) to the seafarers. They all were polite and accepted the
skippers clear voice saying "No, thank you!" - and – "we are using our
anchor!".

All in all a very nice day, even if a couple of the passengers (not the
tuna :-)) could feel the heavy seas for a while. The tuna is now in the
oven, being professionally cooked by Marie. We are looking forward to
taste our first fresh caught tuna ever!
